2016 AAG ANNUAL MEETING
HILTON UNION SQUARE HOTEL
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
SATURDAY, APRIL 2
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
LOCATION: Union Square 22
The National Center for Research in Geography Education invites members of the NCRGE research coordination network to participate in a symposium on transformative research in geography education.
The symposium will feature information about a new NCRGE funding opportunity to foster thematic lines of research supporting the implementation of the The Road Map for 21st Century Geography Education Project’s research agenda. A Request for Proposals will be published in March or April 2016 on the NCRGE website.
To help prospective applicants respond to this funding opportunity, the symposium will feature presentations by distinguished geographers and educational researchers on principles of transformative research and effective strategies for building research networks. Small-group working sessions will also be scheduled to identify potentially transformative research and advance the process of building the research coordination network. Lunch and refreshments will be served.
The symposium is reserved for members of the NCRGE research coordination network. Each institution affiliated with NCRGE may send one representative to attend the symposium. Prospective applicants who are not current RCN members are welcome to RSVP for the symposium, but must first submit a membership application and be approved by NCRGE.
Participants must RSVP to ncrge@aag.org no later than March 15, 2016. There is a limit of 30 participants, so please RSVP as soon as possible.
